My hunting and fishing adventures slowed down a little during 2013 because I was expecting my baby girl-Averi. Baby girl was a sweet smiling bundle of love and inherited my love for the outdoors. She’s my favorite hunting and fishing buddy.

Right from the beginning, she stole our hearts with her unique personality and a sassy little attitude. Wasn’t she just perfect? Look at those cute little cheeks. Aves has become such a great little woman that I can’t even imagine what it would be like to not take her hunting or fishing with me. She is all business with a bit of wit and humor. She’s got an “attitude”.

Averi does her own fishing and thinks it’s silly when the fishing guide baits her hook and wants to hold the rod for her. She wants to hold the rod and reel. She says, “it’s so I can fish”. She is usually reeling in more than the rest of us.

Baby Girl likes hanging out with the family and especially the older kids. She is a lover of the outdoors, puppies, farm animals, and just like her parents, she loves food. She has her own apron and she is always game for a new recipe. She loves pizza and chicken nuggets like most kids her age but she also loves “grown-up” food. Her go-to meal is steak and asparagus. She’s a mess.

She’s had many pets including her favorite little goat, Ms. Sadie. She insisted on Ms. Sadie living in the house but that only lasted until Ms. Sadie was old enough to go out with the other animals. That little goat was spoiled.

She talked us into several more animals over the last few years. So far we’ve had rabbits, chickens, hogs, and dogs. It’s been like Old McDonald’s farm around our place. We had a rooster that would chase her and try to get her. She finally got tired of him and she told me to take him to Nanny’s for dumplings. She has a matter of fact attitude sometimes. She is wise beyond her years.

I could go on and on about my little sweetheart but I’ll just share a few pictures of her enjoying the outdoors with family instead.

She’s a fun-loving, sweet-talking cutie and says she wants to be a Marine Biologist and an outdoor photographer when she grows up. But for now, she’s content to be my buddy. And I’m good with that. I really enjoy Ms. Aves and I’m in no hurry for her to grow up.

She’s growing up so fast. Wow!!! I can’t believe she is already seven.
